This page shows the chronology of the great flood, as recorded in Genesis chapters seven to eight. The exact age of Noah is given for a number of the main events, so the total length of the time in the ark can be calulated. Noah and his family entered the ark seven days before the flood began (7:14). The flood began on the 17th day of the 2nd month of his 600th year (7:11), and they left the ark on the 27th day of the 2nd month of his 601st year (8:14). This gives a total of 378 days, which is one year, 18 days (calculated using a 30 day month).
